Founded in 2023, the Greater DC Area American Cancer Society Young Professionals Board works to connect young professionals with opportunities to advocate for cancer policy and volunteer at events around the area
The Greater DC Young Professionals Chapter combines social and professional networking while creating lasting change in the DMV. Our mission is to mobilize Greater DC Area Young Professionals to further the impact of the American Cancer Society through community engagement, fundraising, and advocacy.
The Greater DC Young Professionals Chapter has 3 goals:
ACS Mission Support - The chapter will support ACS' work in the Greater DC Area by engaging with our 3 mission pillars, connecting with ACS colleagues, and promoting health equity. The chapter will contribute to an ACS key initiative of their choosing over the course of the year.
Professional Development - The chapter will provide leadership opportunities for all members through internal and external networking opportunities and community engagement.
Social/Community Development - The chapter will provide opportunities for members to volunteer and participate in in ACS events and in the Greater DC area. In addition, the Chapter will host team building and social activities throughout the year.
